I was born in Pamplona in 1959, on December the 22th . On that day the front pages of the newspapers brought photos of General Eisenhower being enthusiastically received on the Gran Via in Madrid. I graduated in Information Sciences from the University of Navarra, obtained the Special End of Career Award and spent several years studying Philosophy and Literature at the Complutense University in Madrid.
My first job as a journalist was in the newspaper Diario 16. It was then directed by Pedro J. Ramírez. Then I switched to Radio Nacional de España where I worked first as editor and then as editor of its main news, from 1985 to 1993. That year I moved to Rome as a correspondent. The International Press Club awarded me the prize for the best coverage abroad in 1995. I returned to Spain to take charge of the most important information of the public Radio: “España a las ocho”
In 1998 Television time arrived, first as Director and Anchorman of the Second Edition of the Telediario and as Deputy News Director. During those years in front of Telediario 2 the news show was the unquestionable share leader from 1998 to 2004
In 2000 the Television Academy awarded us the Prize to the Best News Show on Television. Among the awards that take space on a shelf in my office at Ludiana I see two Golden Antenna and a Silver Antenna and a Prize for Promotion of reading, which is perhaps the one that best sensations awakens in me. I was Director of informative in TVE from 2000 to 2004, and had the honor of leading a team of more than a thousand professionals, correspondents, territorial centers, production and realization teams, and uncountable special coverage in years that were convulsive and intense.
I have published the following books: “Días de Ruido y Furia” (11 editions and more than 100,000 copies sold), “El Conclave” (five editions, 25,000 copies) “Benedicto XVI y el último conclave” , “Cómo salir del infierno” , “Pintar la Justicia”, “FIDE muy de cerca”. My most recent books are “La España Cruda” and “Manual Urgente de Comunicación “, both with Editorial Almuzara.
I have developed communication consulting tasks for several Spanish and multinational companies and I have collaborated with national television channels (Antena 3, Tele 5), in opinion programs and debates. In 2014 I was appointed news director of 13 TV and anchorman of the second edition of Al Día, the daily news show at 20.30, a task that I developed until July 2017.
In 2012 I founded Ludiana, a company dedicated to business communication and to senior management advising, crisis communication management and the training of managers in skills and communication skills. I believe in communication, in their ability to solve problems and in it enormous potential to put together projects, join forces, and find the best results for teamwork.
